Robbie Houcek’s Journey Reflections

Now that 2009 has come to a close and 2010 looms ahead with bright promise, you may feel moved to include ritual in your planning process.  A ritual, or a ceremony, is a series of symbolic acts performed with regard to a specific intention or outcome.  Ritual is often associated with religion, but in fact, many of us engage in daily rituals.  Although unconscious, they are still deeply woven into the fabric of our lives, like your morning shower, Starbucks before work or pizza every Friday night.

A ritual performed with specific intent creates a perceptual shift and brings a sense of the sacred to the mundane.  As you contemplate the new year, the Burning Bowl Ceremony is a great way to let go of old habits, thoughts, behaviors and replace them with more constructive, positive options.

Randy Gage has a short video on Youtube explaining how to create a burning bowl ceremony.
