Are You Influenced By Someone Else’s Energy?
Posted by robbiehoucek on Apr 9, 2010 in Uncategorized | 259 commentsInteresting question, isn’t it? Can it happen? Could you be adversely affected? Yes you can. Let me explain…
Thoughts are electric, feelings are magnetic. The energy field that surrounds the human body is an electromagnetic field charged by thoughts and emotions. This electromagnetic field is called the aura.
Each of us has an aura. Each aura has its own unique vibration based on the quality of thoughts and emotions. If a person is predominately happy, their aura will have a tone or vibration of cheerful contentment. Conversely, a predominately angry person will have an irritated or explosive aura.
Here’s where it gets interesting…
Interactions with other people can leave their energetic residue in YOUR aura, which affects the way YOU think and feel! In other words, if you’re normally happy and positive… and you spend time with someone who has a negative attitude… their displeasure and annoyance can seep into your aura making you feel as miserable as they are. Yikes!
Here’s an example…
In December, I went to New Mexico to help my elderly father move into an assisted living center. He is experiencing the early stages of dementia, has bouts of confusion and memory loss, and needed help with the details of moving from a home he and the family occupied for 50 years.
I spent several days with him — cooking, cleaning, packing and organizing the details of his move.
Usually, I am very diligent about managing my energy system. Every day I spend time consciously grounding, meditating and clearing my aura. But because we had so much to do in a short period of time, I neglected my energy maintenance program. I didn’t realize how intertwined our energy systems had become until I left to run an errand. I took his car keys and headed out the door.
As I sat in the car with the keys in my hand, I was utterly perplexed; I had no idea what to do with the key. I sat for a few seconds staring at the ignition, then staring at the key. I knew I was holding a key and I knew the key started the car — I just didn’t know how to make the two work together! That connecting bit of information was completely gone!
It finally dawned on me that the confusion was not mine — I had been spending so much time with my father, that our energy systems had become enmeshed. Because his energy was so prevalent in my field, I was experiencing HIS confusion, caused by his dementia.
Gathering myself, I took a few deep breaths, then did a grounding exercise — and the confusion evaporated immediately.
There are two lessons here. First, understand the transference of energy from aura to aura, and carefully choose who you spend time with. Second, if you must spend time with people who are angry, depressed, “victimy”, or ill, take time daily to ground yourself, meditate, or develop a robust energy maintenance system. I’ll cover other aura-clearing rituals in the future. Stay tuned!
